Gabriele Mazzantini

Gabriele Mazzantini (1976) is an official of the Competition and Market Authority; currently in charge of the Office for the Improvement and Rationalization of Regulation, established within the Department for Legal and Legislative Affairs (DAGL) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

Previous work experience
He worked as a researcher at the Institute for Research and Economic Planning of Tuscany (IRPET) since 2004.
In 2006 he began working with a specialization contract at the Competition and Market Authority and since 2007 he has been a permanent official at the same Authority, at the office of the Chief of Staff and of the General Secretary, then at the Committee of Economic evaluations by the Authority itself.
Between 2011 and 2016 he worked in command at the Constitutional Court as head of the secretariat of the vice-president of the Court, Professor Marta Cartabia.
Between 2016 and 2022 he worked as an official in the Legislation Studies and Analysis Directorate of the Competition and Market Authority and as assistant to Prof. Michele Ainis, member of the same Authority.

Training
He has a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Florence (2000) and a PhD in Economics and Management of Businesses and Local Systems (EGISL) from the same university (2004); in 2014 he obtained the annual Master in Management and Policies of Public Administrations (MAMA), organized by the School of Government (SOG) of LUISS and the National School of Administration (SNA).

Publications and teachings
He has written several essays and contributions on the topics of competition, the economic regulation of markets, the quality of regulation and local public services; on the same topics, he has held lectures and seminars in various Italian universities.
