Giorgio Mocavini (1990) is assistant professor in Public Law at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Palermo. He is qualified as an Associate Professor of Administrative Law (Italian National Scientific Habilitation, 2018-2020, with unanimity vote). He is Ph.D. in Administrative Law (2018) at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa. He was postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Law of the University of Naples “Suor Orsola Benincasa” (2018).
He graduated in Law summa cum laude at the University of Pisa (2014), with a dissertation about State-owned enterprises, and earned an Advanced Diploma at Sant’Anna (2015) with a dissertation on local public services.
He published a book Il prezzo del consenso. Le compensazioni amministrative nel governo dell’ambiente e del territorio (Milano, Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre, 2020). His research interests and publications range from local public services, postal services, public enterprises and bodies, environmental damage compensations. He spent research periods abroad at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (2013), and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg (2017-2018).
He is member of many associations: Lab-Ip – Laboratorio per l’innovazione pubblica; Osservatorio AIR – osservatorio sull’analisi di impatto della regolazione; International Society of Public Law (Icon-S). He is Aspen Junior Fellow of the Aspen Institute Italia.
