The article examines the law on the protection of natural beauty of 1922, the famous «Croce law», 100 years later. The analysis focuses on the importance of this law and on the relationship between it and the law of cultural heritage in Italy and in the world. The «Croce law» was higly influential, and its structure remains valid to this today.
