Marta Cartabia talks to Lorenzo Casini about her experiences as judge and the first female President of the Italian Constitutional Court.
A particular focus of the discussion was on the steps that the Italian Constitutional Court has taken in the recent years in order to strengthen its relationships with the “the public”, such as an increased openness to the media, the procedural changes with the amicus curiae, hearings of experts, etc. The discussion also put these topics in context of more general themes, including the trust in institution, the role of courts and public institution before media, and the health of modern democracies.
This #iconslive event was moderated by Michaela Hailbronner and organised by Fred Felix Zaumseil.
