2014 Inaugural Conference
Florence, June 26-28, 2014

We invite you to join the newly established International Society of Public Law (ICON·S) and to participate in our 2014 Conference on “Rethinking the Boundaries of Public Law and Public Space”.

The Conference, to be held in Florence, Italy, on June 26-28, 2014, will be jointly organized by the European University Institute, the New York University School of Law and the University of Florence.

All participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation expenses.

Palazzo Vecchio

Palazzo Vecchio is situated at Piazza della Signoria, in the heart of Florence. The Conference will take place in Sala dei Cinquecento.  See map.

University of Florence

University of Florence is in the area of Novoli, Via delle Pandette, 32, 50127 Florence, Italy. 

To reach UniFI Novoli, take bus no. 23 from Piazza San Marco or the train station towards Nuovo Pignone and get off at Terzolle – Pasticceria Lucarelli. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and it is a 5 minutes’ walk from the bus stop to Campus.  See map how to reach Campus.

Bus tickets (biglietti) must be bought before boarding and stamped in the machine on the bus. Tickets are on sale at ATAF ticket kiosks and vending machines, tobacconists, newspaper kiosks, and some coffee bars. Taxi from the city centre is about 15 euros. Phone. 055 4242 or 055 4798.

The Conference will take place in building D5 and D6. See map over Campus .

European University Institute, Badia Fiesolana

European University Institute is in the area of Fiesole, Via dei Roccettini 9, 50014 San Domenico di Fiesole, Italy.

To get to the European University Institute, you can take bus no. 7 from Piazza San Marco (in the city centre of Florence) and get off a Piazza San Domenico. The bus stop is called “San Domenico 01.” The bus ride takes about 20 minutes.

To reach Badia Fiesolana from the bus stop in San Domenico, cross the road, walk 50 metres in the direction of Fiesole (the same direction as the bus), and then take the first road to the left, opposite the church and the cemetery (Via dei Roccetini). The bus ride takes about 20 minutes, and it is a 5-10 minutes’ walk from the bus stop to the Badia.
